“Light ideas”, because their realisation in aluminium and magnesium has reduced by 50% the weight of the frames manufactured but also because they are ideas that manage to take flight, guaranteeing a double-digit growth in turnover in the years of the health crisis. Gianfranco Pauletto explains in this way the slogan chosen by his company, Tecnotubi from Concordia Sagittaria (VE), that his late father Giovanni founded 25 years ago. A business whose size represents the traditional face of the Italian manufacturing scene, but whose capacity to innovate takes on the bigger capital companies. "Our philosophy is to propose to our clients innovative, high-performing, light solutions” and to find business opportunities in sectors that are very different from each other. Indeed, it is the ability to differentiate, maintaining high quality, that in this period has allowed Tecnotubi to record a steadily growing production trend. “The research for innovation starts at home", says the businessman, underscoring that this is possible also in small companies. “Our know-how and experience push us to try, experiment and increasingly push beyond the limit of what it is possible to do".

Behind the slogan "Light ideas” there is also the ability to "translate complex projects into simple products to use". The main part of the production is that of first aid devices; that is, basic equipment for ambulances, from stretchers to seats and the frames needed. "This is the first sector in which we began to replace stainless steel, above all with aluminium, but also with magnesium - says Pauletto - and we have reduced the weight of the structures by 50%". Materials, above all aluminium, transferred also to frames produced for the furniture sector and in the production of trailing arms for dirt bikes whose manufacture requires “highly specific technical capacities”. Another sector that Tecnotubi has entered with great satisfaction is the naval one, supplying stainless steel structures for the cabins of cruise ships.

"The most complex projects are managed with the cooperation of external experts", concludes Pauletto, and the company pays special attention to young people, even proposing to the Itis (technical and industrial high school) in Portogruaro (that has a material testing lab which the company often uses) to become involved in an innovative project now being assessed by the Veneto regional authorities.
